Generation of the Early Cretaceous granitoid in the Dazeshan region, Jiaodong Peninsula: Implications for the crustal reworking in the North China Craton

Lower crust-derived granitic rocks provide constraints on the crustal reworking process and consequently give hints destruction mechanism of cratons. The North China Craton (NCC) underwent extensive melting in Mesozoic. This study investigated intrusions Dazeshan region Jiaodong Peninsula. Whole-rock major trace element analyses zircon U-Pb ages coupled with Hf isotopes were used to reveal processes. Zircons separated from quartz porphyry, Linglong granite, rhyolite biotite granite showed weighted mean 206 Pb- 238 U 119.2 ± 1.0 Ma, 140.2 120.6 0.5 119.9 0.7 respectively. had high silica contents (SiO 2 = 74–77 wt.%) but low MgO, Co, Ni concentrations. calculated ? (t) values for porphyry ranged ?18.3 ?20.0 ?17.8 ?20.2, These geochemical features imply ancient crust sources. distinct primitive mantle-normalized rare earth (REE) patterns was characterized by lower ?REE content lack pronounced negative Eu anomalies. Dy/Yb ratios no correlation whole-rock Rb/Sr contents, reflecting limited effects crystal fractionation. Ba/La also (>150), Sr/Y La/Yb (Sr/Y < 50; 15). likely indicate that generated water-fluxed without differentiation. shared many similarities, denoting a unified source.
